Layettes / Diddy Bags / Camp Kits
Layettes:
Each basket should contain at least the following NEW items in sizes suitable for newborn and up to three months.
All fabrics should be unscented. Items should be packed in a small laundry basket and placed inside a clear plastic bag. The bag should be tied with ribbon.
- 1 bath towel
- 3 grow vests
- 4 baby washcloths
- 3 stretch sleepers
- 2 receiving blankets
- 2 bibs
- 1 sweater & hat set 1 crib blanket/quilt
- 2 pair stretch socks/booties
- 1 soft toy
- 1 baby soap
- 1 petroleum jelly
- 1 changing pad
- 1 pkg baby wipes
- 12 disposable diapers
Ditty Bags:
Each bag should contain the following NEW items. Items should be packed in a small pouch or zip-lock bag, and labelled for man or woman, and brought to Distribution Day.
Do NOT include cosmetics, perfume/cologne, aerosol spray cans.
- 1 toothbrush and 1 toothpaste
- 1 soap
- 1 comb
- 1 pocket pack tissues
- 1 safety razor
- 1 shampoo
- 2-3 emery boards
- 1 pack Band-Aids (10)
- 1 shaving cream/lotion 1 deodorant
Children’s Camp Kits:
Families on welfare often lack the funds to purchase the personal grooming items that their children are requested to bring to residential camps. Each kit should contain the following NEW items.
Items should be packed in a small zip-lock bag. The small Slide Seal bags are slightly larger and stronger, with an area to write. the child’s name. DO NOT include sunscreen and insect repellant in the kits. No snack food or games.
